WellSpan Health has officially opened WellSpan Newberry Hospital in Newberry Township, Pennsylvania, offering 24/7 emergency services and 10 inpatient beds to northern York County residents. The new hospital is designed as a smaller, more accessible facility, allowing for faster, more personalized care and shorter wait times compared with traditional hospitals.
“WellSpan Newberry Hospital was designed with the patient in mind, addressing challenges at larger facilities by admitting, treating and getting patients on their way quickly, when possible. We’re excited for patients to experience this new approach to emergency care, and we stand ready to serve this community,” said Dan Hernandez, vice president of WellSpan’s neighborhood hospitals.
This opening marks the first of three neighborhood hospitals WellSpan plans to launch in 2026, part of the health system’s broader strategy to expand access and meet growing community health needs.
