HealthTrust serves some of the largest IDNs in the U.S. Here’s a look at 15 of the biggest health systems that are part of HealthTrust in 2025:  

Ardent Health Services

Through its subsidiaries, Ardent delivers care through a system of 30 acute care hospitals and approximately 280 sites of care with over 2,400 employed and affiliated providers across six states. Ardent is a for-profit system. Ardent and HealthTrust signed a 10-year agreement in Dec. 2022. 

Beth Israel Lahey Health

Beth Israel Lahey Health is a health care system that brings together academic medical centers and teaching hospitals, specialty and community hospitals, more than 4,700 physicians and 39,000 employees in a shared mission to expand access to care and advance the science and practice of medicine through groundbreaking research and education.

CHRISTUS Health

CHRISTUS Health is a Catholic not-for-profit health care system comprising more than 600 centers, including long-term care facilities, community hospitals, walk-in clinics and health ministries. The IDN has 50,000 Associates, with over 15,000 physicians providing personalized care in Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Arkansas, and outside the U.S. in Chile, Colombia and Mexico.  

Community Health Systems (CHS)

Operating in 14 states, CHS affiliates operate 70 acute-care hospitals and more than 1,000 other sites of care, including physician practices, urgent care centers, freestanding emergency departments, occupational medicine clinics, imaging centers, cancer centers and ambulatory surgery centers.

Franciscan Health

Franciscan Alliance is one of the largest Catholic health care systems in the Midwest with 20,000 employees and 12 hospital campuses in Indiana and Illinois. With more than 850 primary and specialty care providers at over 260 locations in Indiana and Illinois, the IDN’s Franciscan Physician Network is one of the largest and most respected multi-specialty physician networks in the Midwest.

Hackensack Meridian Health

Hackensack Meridian Health is a leading not-for-profit health care organization in New Jersey with 18 hospitals, more than 36,000 team members, 7,000 physicians and 500+ patient care locations, including ambulatory care centers, surgery centers, home health services, long-term care and assisted living communities, ambulance services, lifesaving air medical transportation, urgent care centers, physician practice locations, and a fitness and wellness center.  

HCA Healthcare

HCA Healthcare is one of the largest health systems in the U.S. The IDN is comprised of more than 188 hospitals and 2,400+ sites of care in 20 states and the United Kingdom. In addition to hospitals, sites of care include surgery centers, freestanding ERs, urgent care centers, diagnostic and imaging centers, walk-in clinics and physician clinics.

Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS)

Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) cares for patients in 14 communities in Illinois and Wisconsin with 15 hospitals, scores of community-based health centers and clinics, nearly 2,300 physician partners, and more than 14,600 colleagues.

Lifepoint Health

Lifepoint Health is a growing, diversified healthcare delivery network with care locations in 31 states. The health system is comprised of more than 50,000 dedicated employees, 60 community hospital campuses, more than 60 rehabilitation and behavioral health hospitals and 250 additional sites of care, including managed acute rehabilitation units, outpatient centers and post-acute care facilities.  

Mercy  

Mercy, based in Chesterfield, Missouri, is a highly integrated, multi-state health care system including 55 acute care and specialty (heart, children’s, orthopedic and rehab) hospitals, convenient and urgent care locations, imaging centers and pharmacies. Mercy has over 1,000 physician practice locations and outpatient facilities, more than 5,000 physicians and advanced practitioners and more than 50,000 caregivers serving patients and families across Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. Mercy also has clinics, outpatient services and outreach ministries in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.  

Orlando Health

Orlando Health is a not-for-profit healthcare headquartered in Orlando, Florida. The IDN’s 41,000 team members and nearly 6,000 physicians provide care at its 25 hospitals, 12 freestanding ERs, 12 Specialty Institutions, 115+ Outpatient Centers , and nearly 200 other sites of care in Florida.

Prime Healthcare

Prime Healthcare, based in Ontario, California, is an award-winning health system operating 51 hospitals and more than 360 outpatient locations in 14 states. It is one of the nation's leading health systems, with nearly 57,000 employees and affiliated physicians. Prime Healthcare Services, Inc., is a privately owned for-profit company, however, 18 of the Prime Healthcare hospitals are members of the Prime Healthcare Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity.

Tenet Healthcare

Tenet Healthcare Corporation is a diversified healthcare services company that operates a national portfolio of 52 hospitals and approximately 640 outpatient centers and additional sites of care, as well as a global business center in Manila, Philippines. The company’s care delivery network includes United Surgical Partners International, the largest ambulatory platform in the country, which operates ambulatory surgery centers and surgical hospitals. Tenet’s Conifer Health Solutions subsidiary provides revenue cycle management and value-based care services to hospitals, health systems, physician practices, employers, and other clients.  

Trinity Health  

Trinity Health, based in Livonia, Michigan, is a not-for-profit Catholic health system operating 92 hospitals in 22 states, as well as 120 continuing care locations encompassing home care, hospice, PACE and senior living facilities. Trinity Health employs more than 120,000 people including 5,300 physicians.

Vibra Healthcare

Vibra Healthcare and its affiliates currently employ over 4,000 employees and own, operate, and manage more than 25 specialty hospitals, transitional care facilities, and hospital-based outpatient physical therapy locations across 10 states. Based in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Vibra is focused on the development, acquisition, and operation of freestanding specialty acute care hospitals, medical rehabilitation hospitals, and outpatient physical rehabilitation centers.
