Expanded primary care access is the goal of new partnership between IDN, retailer
24 Feb, 2025

CVS MinuteClinic and Atlanta, Georgia-based Emory Healthcare Network are partnering to provide in-network adult primary care to most health insurance plan holders at all MinuteClinic locations in Georgia.

The partnership aims to increase primary care access, potentially improving health outcomes by reducing healthcare costs and the risk of premature death through regular primary care. Here are 3 other things to know:

Convenient Services: The expanded services include same-day access, extended hours, virtual care, and care coordination through an interoperable electronic health record system.

Comprehensive Care: MinuteClinic patients will have access to Emory’s hospitals, specialists, and diagnostic services, enhancing the availability of additional care when necessary.

New Training for Providers: MinuteClinic has introduced new training and care protocols for its advanced practice providers to manage primary care with an emphasis on prevention and chronic condition management.

“With a shortage of primary care physicians and services in Georgia, MinuteClinic’s expansion of primary care, in coordination with the Emory Healthcare Network, will offer additional options for primary and preventive care throughout our larger community,” says Joon S. Lee, MD, CEO of Emory Healthcare, the most comprehensive academic health system in Georgia. “We continue to look for meaningful ways to broaden access to care in our state.”
