Select Medical and Corewell Health have formed a joint venture to build and operate a new 84-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Sterling Heights, Michigan, next to Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital. 

The four-story facility will provide specialized rehabilitation for patients recovering from stroke, spinal cord and brain injuries, amputations and medically complex orthopedic conditions. The hospital will feature dedicated rehabilitation spaces and advanced technology designed to support patients’ recovery, mobility and independence.

According to Corewell Health, the new facility will nearly quadruple the current rehabilitation footprint in Troy as demand for inpatient rehabilitation grows across Southeast Michigan.

The project is undergoing regulatory and municipal reviews, with an opening expected in 2029. The partnership builds on an existing relationship between Select Medical and Corewell Health that dates to 2017 and is intended to create a more connected continuum from acute hospital care through post-acute rehabilitation and ultimately a patient’s return home.
