ChristianaCare’s Center for Virtual Health Celebrates Milestone
09 Oct, 2025

ChristianaCare’s Center for Virtual Health has achieved a milestone: full accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), making it one of the first health systems in the country to secure this distinction.

The accreditation is part of NCQA’s newly introduced Virtual Care Accreditation program — ChristianaCare was one of just 18 organizations initially invited to help pilot the standards in 2023.

With this endorsement, ChristianaCare’s virtual primary care model is validated for meeting high standards in clinical quality, patient safety, accessibility, equity, and data privacy.

In 2024 alone, the Center delivered over 7,500 virtual visits, underscoring the growing demand for high-quality digital care.

The program is supported by a multidisciplinary team — physicians, nurses, behavioral health specialists, pharmacists, and digital ambassadors — all contributing to a patient-centered virtual platform.

Looking ahead, ChristianaCare plans to expand access in 2026 by opening virtual primary care to a broader consumer base, with most insurance plans expected to cover the service.

Leadership says this accreditation not only affirms their approach, but helps define national best practices as virtual care becomes a mainstay in American health care.
