Baylor Scott & White Health is expanding its strategic investments in Brenham and surrounding communities, with new services, specialists and a planned clinic designed to strengthen local access to care.

The health system announced a series of enhancements aimed at keeping more patients close to home for both routine and specialized treatment. Expanded offerings include cardiology diagnostics, surgical services, infusion therapy, pain management and additional hospital-based coverage. Leaders say the effort reflects continued population growth in Washington County and the need for broader specialty access outside major metro areas.

Women’s and family health is a major focus of the expansion. Baylor Scott & White is investing in obstetrics, gynecology and family medicine to support maternal and infant care in the region, ensuring local families can access prenatal, delivery and postpartum services without traveling long distances.

The system also plans to build a new clinic near Highway 290 that will increase capacity for primary and specialty care and add imaging and other outpatient services. Groundbreaking is expected in fall 2026, with completion targeted for 2028.

Health system leaders say the long-term strategy is designed to improve continuity of care, support regional growth and ensure residents of Brenham and nearby communities have access to comprehensive, coordinated healthcare close to home.
