When asked what industry level trends she was keeping an eye on heading into 2025, Andrea Poulopoulos, Senior Vice President, Supply Chain, Corewell Health starts with automation.

“Automation is a fundamental component of our future state CSC, and something that we really hung our hat on in our business plan,” she said.

The consistent challenges that exist across the healthcare industry are also a trend Poulopoulos will continue to monitor. “We know that the future is one in which we have to continue to be more efficient and productive, doing more with less, and continuing to explore how automation could potentially help augment the scope of increased work.”

Also, sustainability and supplier diversity remain top of mind. “We are investing substantially from both a cultural perspective as well as a resource perspective and making sure that we’re doing our part as an organization as it relates to both supporting diverse suppliers across the state of Michigan and the country as a whole. We have a target that we are working to achieve, and that target continues to increase year over year in terms of diverse supplier spend. We have several sustainability-related targets that we’ve made fantastic progress around, which I’m incredibly proud of. Our key to success thus far has been our focus on creating an undercurrent as it relates to supplier diversity and sustainability so that that work is woven into our sourcing processes and stocking strategies.”
